Senior Software Engineer | Tebra | July 2023 - April 2026

• Led design and implementation of an Insurance Collections Data Pipeline using ClickHouse, Kafka, and Composer - built materialized views for data transformation and deployed Kafka Connect on GKE to stream production data.
• Designed end-to-end ETL from SQL Server to ClickHouse for AR analytics; resolved critical ingestion timeouts by discovering an undocumented configuration parameter.
• Completed first legacy Spring service migration to GKE, diagnosing issues alongside DevOps and coordinating a phased traffic cutover - unblocking a long-stalled initiative to migrate 30+ services.
• Scraped nginx access logs across all platform services and built a Python script using machine learning (k-means clustering) to group endpoints into circuit breakers by request rate and latency percentiles - giving each team a data-driven starting configuration based on historical traffic patterns.
• Redesigned auth service caching at the repository level, cutting average latency by 50%+ (2.8ms → 1.25ms), reducing daily API calls by 23% (43M → 33M) and optimized Redis caching enough to size down the instances and save on costs.

Software Engineer III | Tebra | July 2021 - July 2023

• Implemented multi-factor authentication across the full platform - backend APIs (session management, Twilio SMS, audit logging), web login, and two iOS apps (Swift/Objective-C) - with zero prior mobile experience.
• Fixed pervasive bug in Spring’s Hashicorp Vault’s client code that led to seemingly random outages across all of our 100+ Java services.
• Ensured customer satisfaction by fixing bug that caused inconsistent data in our customer support application.
• Built a greenfield RBAC authorization service using OpenAPI-first design with OPA (Rego) for policy evaluation - designed REST contracts and implemented CRUD operations for users, roles, permissions, and resources with full integration test coverage.
• Extracted a legacy reports service from a monolithic codebase into a standalone Spring Boot microservice, creating isolated contract artifacts and maintaining backward API compatibility - documented the full process to pave the way for remaining service extractions.
